党员领导干部既是党员中的一员,又区别于其他党员,在党的事业发展中处于重要地位,负有重大责任,起着关键作用。这就使得党员领导干部保持先进性的问题显得尤为重要。这就要求党员领导干部必须牢记立党为公、执政为民的理念,带头做到坚定信念、提高修养,善于学习、增强本领,统筹全局、勤政为民,突出要务、锐意创新,恪守党纪、率先垂范,清正廉洁、甘于奉献,在永葆先进性上始终走在广大党员的前列,时时、处处发挥表率作用。

Leading cadres of the Party are both common and special party members. In the Party＇s cause development, they are in an important position, bear major responsibilities and play key roles, which makes it particularly important for leading cadres to maintain progressiveness. This requires them to keep in mind the concept of serving the public and ruling for the people, to take the lead in keeping firm faith, promoting cultivation, and being good at learning, enhancing skills, co-coordinating the overall situation, working diligently for the people, being innovative, abiding by the Party＇s discipline, willing to make sacrifice, and always walking in the forefront of the vast number of party members.
