摘要 中西方面子观在文化内涵、建构条件和价值取向等方面存在着很大的差异,这种差异给跨文化交际和英语课堂教学带来多方面的启示。交际参与者应该充分认识到中西方面子礼貌策略的差异及其在语言中的体现,并由此出发,进一步把握中西方的不同文化背景,以减少文化冲突,达成成功交际。就大学英语教学而言,培养和提高学生的跨文化交际能力应该成为首要目标之一。 There exists great diversity of western "face" and Chinese "face" in cultural connotations, constructing conditions and value orientation, from which we may gain a great deal of enlightenment to intercultural communication and English teaching and learning. Participants in intercultural communication should fully realize the diversity of western and Chinese politeness strategy and its reflections in different languages so as to reduce the cultural conflicts and make successful communications with foreigners. As far as college English teaching and learning is concerned, the ability of intercultural communication should become the core for the development of foreign language talents.
