国内5大中文生物医学期刊数据库文献收录比较研究

A Comparative Study of the Literature Included in the Five Authoritative Domestic Databases of Chinese Biomedical Journals

目的全面了解国内5大中文生物医学期刊数据库收录生物医学期刊情况,以便指导医疗卫生单位合理选择医学数据库。方法分别对5个数据库1994-2004年间收录医学期刊情况包括收刊总数、现刊数量、核心期刊数量和文献篇数及收录年代情况进行统计和对比分析研究。结果文摘数据库收录的期刊数、现刊总数、核心期刊数和文献篇数都明显多于全文数据库,特别是2个文摘数据库都收录了《核心期刊要目总鉴》(第4版)收录的全部医药卫生类核心期刊,数据比较完整、系统;但各有特点;如全文数据库可直接获得全文,能及时获取原始研究结果。结论只有完整收录生物医学期刊特别是核心期刊才能提高数据库的质量,只有正确认识全文数据库与文摘数据库才能合理选择和使用数据库,只有合理选择和使用数据库才能开创医学信息服务的新局面。

Objective To guide medical institutions in rationally selecting medical databases by completely understanding the biomedical journals included in the five national authoritative databases. Methods The total number of journals, the number of current journals and core journals, the number of articles and coverage era included in the five biomedical journals databases from 1994 to 2004 were analyzed. Results The total number of journals, the number of current journals and core journals and the number of literature included in the abstract databases were obviously much more than that in full - text databases, especially, all the biomedical core journals included in 《Guide to the Core journals of China》 （4th edition）were included in the two abstract databases. The data were comparatively complete and systematic. But each had its own characteristics, and the full text and the original results of studies could be achieved directly and timely from the full - text database. Conclusions Only by embodying biomedical journals completely, especially the core journals, can the quality of a database be improved. Only by understanding the full - text and abstract databases correctly, can we rationally select and utilize them. Only by rationally selecting and making use of the databases, can we open up a new situation for the biomedical information service.
