摘要
培养学生的自主学习能力是大学英语教学的重要环节之一,系统性导入形成性自我评价有利于调动学生自主学习的积极性,提高他们的自主学习能力。
Promoting autonomous learning is an important aspect of college English teaching. Traditional summative assessmentsystem, which holds a dominant position in Chinese universities, demotivates autonomous learning. This paper argues that systematic introduction of formative self-assessment is highly constructive in motivating and optimizing autonomous learning. The application of dynamic formative self-assessment should comply with the following principles: (1) students as the principal participants, (2) multiple perspectives in terms of assessment scope, (3) assessment for instruction, and (4) assessment for motivating learning, Effective methods of formative self-assessment include questionnaires, interviews, diaries, journals and learners' portfolios.
