Active Rhetorical Devices in English for Science and Technology and Their Translation

科技英语注重逻辑上的连贯及表达上的明晰与畅达,避免主观随意性,但不排斥积极修辞的使用。通过例证表明积极修辞在科技英语中起着使文章更加生动、形象的重要作用,并简单论述了其翻译方法。

English for Science and Technology （EST） stresses coherence in logic, clarity and fluency in expression, and avoids subjectivity and arbitrariness, but it doesn＇t exclude active rhetorical devices. With examples, this paper shows active rhetorical devices are not rare in EST and they contribute to adding to the liveliness and vividness and it also elaborates their translation methods.
