New scalable bidirectional tunable OXC for next-generation optical internet

摘要 本文提出一种新型双向可调2×2的OXC结构,采用可调光纤布喇格光栅和环行器构成。由2×2基本结构能方便地扩充到N×N的B-OXC。此结构具有插入损耗较小、结构简单、体积小、价格便宜等优点,在未来的全光网络中具有广泛的应用前景。 In this paper, a new architecture of 2 × 2 bidirectional dynamic optical cross-connect (B-OXC) based on tunable Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and Optical Circulators (OC) is proposed. It can expand N×N routing modules owing to the cascade-ability of individual. The proposed B-OXC has the advantages of much smaller insert loss, simpler structure, compact size, potentially lower cost and so on. Its application foreground will be very good in next-generation optical Internet.
