On the Relationship between Huang Zunxian and the Meiji Thoughts Circles

黄遵宪在任中国首届驻日本公使馆参赞期间,深受日本自由民权运动的影响,与明治思想界的重要启蒙思想家加藤弘之、福泽谕吉、中村正直有着较深的渊源关系,这种经历成为其形成渐进式立宪思想的重要因素。

Huang Zunxian was deeply influenced by the People＇ s Rights Movement when he was a counselor of the first China diplomatic corps on Japan. He kept closer relations with the famous thinkers of the Meiji thoughts Circles, such as Kato Hiroyuki, Fukuzawa Yukichi and Nakamura Masanao. This experience became an important factor which led him to form his constitutionalism.
