On Correct Understanding of the Current Social Equality Issue in China

维护和实现社会公平是构建社会主义和谐社会的重要内容和关键环节,是实践“三个代表”重要思想的必然要求。现阶段我国社会的公平问题涉及经济、政治、文化诸多领域,其中突出的表现为城乡差距持续拉大、部分社会成员的收入分配差距过大和高收入阶层中出现部分人通过贪污腐败、权钱交易等违法和不当方式致富的现象。正确认识我国现阶段的公平问题,是维护和实现社会公平的前提。应当从社会主义初级阶段的国情出发,在改革和发展中促进公平目标的实现。

Social equality is the important element and critical link to build a harmonious socialist society. Nurturing scientific analysis and correct understanding of current social equality problem in China is the premise to practically maintain and achieve social equality. To achieve the goal of social equality through reform and development, we must take into account the situation of initial-staged socialism.
