Comment on Sima Qian's Sympathy(Ⅱ)——The Forth of Series Papers on Sima Qian's Study

司马迁与孔子、墨子一样,有一颗伟大的爱人之心,他怀着普世之爱,怀着人道主义的悲悯情怀,对人间的一切苦难和人生的种种悲剧,同情着、惋惜着、痛苦着,他不仅为受苦者、被害者、被压抑者、怀才不遇者、饮恨含冤者一掬同情之泪,也为那些残暴、昏庸、阴险、狡诈、贪婪、无耻、懦弱、欲害人而最终也躲不过悲惨命运的人深深地悲哀。他的爱是博大的,他的悲悯是深沉的,他的心中有着丰富的痛苦。

Sima Qian had an universal heart. What he did and he said was the same as Confucius and Mozi. He had a deep love for all people and sympathized with suffering people in the world. He suffered, sighed and sympathized with all the hardness, and all kinds of tragedies in the world. He didn＇t only burst into tears when he saw the suppressed people, the killed people, the innocent people but sighed for the tragedies people who were owe violent, stupid, greedy, shameless, cowardly in their lives. His love was very universal and his sympathy was very deep. His heart was of pain.
