《周易》爻辞是歌体结构的,而且属于口头歌谣创作的产物;“套语”是西方对口头文学的研究过程中提出的一个重要理论,重在对口头文学创作形式的研究。虽然这一理论的文本根据是《荷马史诗》,但是作为口头文学的最初阶段,中国的上古歌谣———《周易》爻辞,在形式创作上也同样体现了“套语”的特征。此时的“套语”还尚未形成成熟的套语系统,但也出现了“句法套语”和“主题套语”的形式。
