摘要
辜鸿铭的《中国人的精神》与林语堂的《吾国吾民》这两部著作都是以中国人的身份为西方讲述中国人,与西方人带回去的中国形象相比,他们从另一个侧面诠释了东方。但他们描述的中国人终究还是脱离不了西方中心主义的影响,有对应依附的后殖民色彩。作为西方文化的“他者”,辜与林的创作是在西方话语权的隐蔽制约下用西方的期待视野来阐释中国。
Both of the two books, The Spirits of Chinese by Gu Hong-ming and My Country My People by Lin Yu-tang, provide a detail narration of Chinese for the westerners in the view of Chinese. Compared with the Chinese image brought back by the westerns, they expound the east from another angle. Chinese people in their eyes have corresponding post-colonial feature. As ＇ others＇ in western culture, these two books attempt to expound China from the perspective of western expectation under the disguised restrictions of discursive right.
