This paper introduces the auther's ponderation over the series of problems that whether the comprehensive theoretical system of an integrated surface science could be established, how to classify the surface science and what's the place the surface technology taken in surface science as well as the relationship between them etc., hoping the specialists, professors and engineering technicians in this field will be stimulated to discuss the theoretical system of surface science, thus to promote the development of both surface technology and surface science.
