Utopia is a perfect world dreamed of by many people, even designed by many philosophers and writers who wish to make it come true. However, in spite of this fanaticism, some people express opinions on this proposition with calmness and sobriety. One conspicuous example is George OrweU whose work, Nineteen Eighty- Four, depicts an extreme case of utopia in which citizens are deprived of individual freedom for the existence of the utopia, and utopia in essence degenerates into a totalitarian dystopia. This work warns the readers that political fanaticism may cause the loss of individual freedom and self- consciousness, and a beautiful dream may be turned into a nightmare.
