My View on the Formation of Mao Ze-dong Thought

毛泽东思想基本形成于30年代初的这种观点明显存在问题。30年代初不具备毛泽东思想形成的基本条件;毛泽东本人也多次讲到,到了抗日战争时期,经历了两次胜利和两次失败的反复比较,中国共产党才认清了中国革命的规律,他才写出包括《新民主主义论》在内的一些主要著作。因此,毛泽东思想应该形成于30年代末40年代初。对《星星之火,可以燎原》和《反对本本主义》这两篇文章的思想价值,应该作出谨慎的评价,找到它们在毛泽东思想发展史上的正确座标。

It is unsafe to say that Mao Ze-dong Thought was formed in the 1930s when basic conditions for that were not existing. As Mao Ze-dong often mentioned, it was until the period of war of resistance against Japanese that CPC finally realized the law of Chinese revolution after repeatedly comparing two victories and two defeats and that Mao Ze-dong composed some works such as Theory of New Democracy. Therefore, it is safer to conclude that Mao Ze-dong thought was formed at the end of 1930s and in the early of 1940s. It is also necessary to carefully evaluate his two articles-Fighting Against Bookishness and Spark Could Burn out Grassland-to find their roles in the formation of Mao Ze-dong Thought.
