介绍了ＩＥＥＥ关于中性点高电阻接地方式的定义，采用该方式使接地故障电流大为减少，过电压水平降到可以接受的程度，从而使电缆回路可在不停电条件下继续短时间供电运行，寻找故障等；同时还举例说明了实施办法；介绍了美国所采用的电缆故障检测。

The IEEE definition of neutral-point high resistance earthing is introduced. With this earthing method the earthing fault current greatly decreased and the overvoltage level reduced to the acceptable level, therefore the cable can continuously operate in short time without outage and fault can be found.
