A style of design is formed little by little in a fashion designer's long-term design activities. The style is not always firm and fixed. There are two main factors that affect the changes of style. One is the major events and incidents that happened in a designer's personal life. The other is the social environment and its various new ideological trend.Once a style of design has been formed it may be steady for a quite long time. The more distinct a style is, the more personal things of the designer it has, the less general characters that can be accepted by most consumers it has. One kind of styles can cover only a relatively small amount of garment commodities.Stylish designs are those which are stylized and modellized. They directly show the characteristics of clothes. The styles of design, belonging to designers, are stabler and more monotonous with narrow range: while stylish designs, to meet consumer's demands, are more versatile and variable.Clothes should have their own styles which are not merely of the designers. Theoretically, the types of people's life-style and-their variation are infinite, and so are the development of clothing material and the improvement of the technology. Thus, the varied styles of clothes are limitless. It is suggested that designers seek new stylish models and introduce new stylish designs based on the models. Being aware of expanding the range of their styles, they will find a wider world of design emerging before their eyes. As a result, the adaptability of their products to the market will also be improved.
