According to analysis conducted by www. chinahrd.net, it is entirely possible that recruiting managers are biased-and that they don't even know it. 40.8% recruiting managers have biases against candidates at first glance; 53.2% of them have some reaction at candidate exterior conditions, say appearance, age, gender, but still stick to candidate real abilities; only 6% of recruiting managers can not be influenced by candidate exterior conditions from the start. Such hidden biases can be disastrous for the employees who suffer as a result of them. For HR, the task is clear, but daunting: Help uncover and address such bias before problems arise.
