Lu You was the poetic soul of his times. He was wholeheartedly concerned with the destiny of his nation in all his life. His poems of mountains and waters were imbued with the spirit of mountains and waters in the Zhejiang province, and full of worldly expectation and loftily aesthetic and deeply philosophic experiences.
