摘要
语言是表达思想的工具,修辞则是语言表达的艺术。采用修辞格可以使语言更为生动、形象、鲜明和准确。与英语植物词有关的修辞格主要是明喻、隐喻、提喻、借代和拟人。
The paper attempts to study the rhetorical features of plant words in English by the analysis of concrete instances, arguing that such figures of speech as simile, metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche, personification and alliteration are closely related to the plant words in English language.
