莫友芝对水族古文字的研究

Research of Mo Youzhi on Ancient Characters of Shui Minority

当前水族古文字研究已成热点。而早在清咸丰庚申年(1860)四月,莫友芝就已于《郘亭诗钞.红崖古刻歌》中提出水族古文字“初本皆从竹简过录”,“云自三代”,“核其字画,疑斯篆前最简古文”的观点。这是目前所知研究水族古文字最早的史料。

The research of ancient Shui characters has become the hot issue recently. Early in April, 1860 （China Xianfeng Gengshen Year of Qing Dynasty）, Mo Youzhi had the opinions about ancient Shui characters that the original ancient Shui characters were inscribed on the bamboo slip （ used for writing on during ancient times） ; they originated from Xia, Shang, Zhou three dynasties ; after the verification, it was suspicious that they were the simplest ancient characters before seal characters （ a style of Chinese calligraphy, often used on seals）. This is the earliest historical data for researching the ancient Shui characters as we know recently.
