Study and Discussion on Chan ling

缠令兴起于北宋,消亡于元代,几与诸宫调相始终。缠令是同一宫调内诸种曲调相结合形成套数的首创,它与诸宫调一起,是我国元杂剧曲牌联套形式的开路先锋。缠令上承词体文学,下启戏曲文学,可谓两者之间的过渡桥梁。

Chan ling shaped in North-Song Dynasty and disappeared in Yuan Dynasty, and its life is almost as long as Zhugongdiao. Chan ling firstly created the using of series of Qu in the same Gongdiao to form a cycle of songs. Chart ling and Zhugongdiao are all the pioneer of the Yuan Zaju＇ s using of cycle of songs, it carried Ci to Qu as a bridge between them.
