The government of Ghana has invited UN-HABITAT Advisory Group on Forced Evictions Group (AGFE) on Forced Evictions to visit the country and help it find ways out of a deadlock over plans to evict an estimated 30,000 people from a settlement on the outskirts of the capital, Accra. The government viewed AGFE mission as a step in the right direction since they believed they would be able to have a breakthrough in this case through dialogue. This article presents briefly about the situation before the AGFE mission started.
