A Critique on The Relationship Between Foreign Trade and International Investment

国际贸易与国际投资的关系与国际经济环境的变化密切相关。在传统的国际经济环境中,企业国际化一般通过按部就班的线性次序完成,因此,关于贸易与投资关系的学术探讨大体上按照“替代和互补”的思路展开。随着经济一体化的发展尤其是跨国公司全球生产体系的形成,传统理论的研究基础和说服力受到削弱;新的相关理论和研究方法应运而生,但还有不足之处。

The relationship between intemational trade and intemational investment is intimately correlated with the international economic environment. In a traditional economic environment, firm＇s internationalization has to experience a line order sequence, thereupon, intemational investment is generally considered to substitute or complement intemational trade. With the development of the economic integration, particularly the formation of the world production system, the foundation of the traditional theory has been weakened. New related theories and research method have emerged with the tide of change, but still are not satisfactory.
