建设和谐社会是西藏地区与全国其他地区在社会主义建设新时期面临的重大课题,教育作为重要的社会系统,可以为西藏和谐社会建设中做出基础性的贡献。具体说来可以:通过加快发展职业技术教育,培养区域适用人才,促进和谐社会的物质基础建设;通过开展多元文化教育,培养多元文化意识,促进和谐社会的文化基础建设;通过加强法制教育,维护社会稳定,促进和谐社会的法制基础建设;通过加强环境教育,建立合理的人与自然关系,促进和谐社会的环境基础建设。

In Tibet and other areas in China constructing a harmonious society is an the new period of socialist construction. Education, as an important social system, makes important issue in a very substantial contribution to the construction of a harmonious society in Tibet. To be specific, through speeding up the development of occupational education, regional-suited talents could be trained to promote the material basis of constructing a harmonious society; through developing muhicultural education, multicuhural consciousness could be raised to promote the cultural basis of constructing a harmonious society; through strengthening legal education, social stability could be maintained to promote the legal system of constructing a harmonious society; through strengthening environmental education, rational relationship could be established between human being and nature to promote the environmental basis of constructing a harmonious society.
