Systemic scleroderma (SSc) is a progressivedermatosis with symmetric skin sclerosis andischemia of the fingers or toes,accompanied withlesions of the joints,muscles and many internalorgans,and it may clinically result in functionaldisablement due to sclerosis, rigidity and atrophy ofthe skin.The following is a survey of the basic andclinical studies of TCM on SSc.
