许多文艺作品离不开对爱情的描写，这正是由于力比多是社会的普遍存在。力比多与作家和作品以及和读者之间存在着密切的相互关系，以至于从一定层面上说力比多是文学作品的生命力。从精神分析上讲，此类作品中存在着性的亲和力。从美学上讲，性亲和力在作品里的形成过程又是审美活动和美感享受的过程。
