本文分析了霍桑著名的短篇小说《年轻的古德曼·布朗》中所出现的人物、景物环境等各种形象,并揭示了这些形象后面所隐藏的深刻寓意。霍桑通过这些看似简单的形象充分揭示了小说主题“罪恶乃人类天性”。这也是霍桑小说创作的重复主题。

This paper intends to analyze some images such as characters and surroundings in Hawthorne＇ s short novel ＂Young Goodman Brown＂Through the analysis of these images, the theme of this novel is presented clearly and fully. In this novel,Hawthorne reveals that ＂Evll is the nature of mankind＂by the use of these images.
