On Translational Convergence from Relevance Theory Perspective

翻译是一种跨文化的交流活动.根据关联理论原则,作者试图论述要提高翻译的效度和信度,必须使译文尽量向原作趋同.翻译的趋同性是由于语境的动态性质决定的.趋同可分为语义趋同和语用趋同,译者应尽力做到语用趋同.

Translation is a kind of cross cultural communication. Based on Relevance Theory, this paper tries to argue that a translated version must converge to the original as much as possible to improve the translation validity and fidelity. Translation convergence includes semantic and pragmatic convergence, which is determined by the dynamic nature of contexts. A translator should strive for pragmatic convergence.
