自越南战争以来,空中加油机在作战中的大量使用,已成为高技术条件下局部战争中不可缺少的重要组成部分。空中加油机的普遍使用,在一定程度上促进了空中作战方式的变革和发展。随着空中加油技术的进一步发展,空中加油机在未来战争中的地位将会愈来愈突出。空中加油的作用空中加油解决了航空兵器长期以来存在的某些难以克服的弱点,使航空兵的作战能力得以全面提高。因此。

Air refuelers have played an important role in some local wars since the Viet Nam War and will be used more extensively in some future wars. Air refuel is very helpful to increase military aircraft' s range, combat radius, payload and no-landed flight time as well as to improve the rapid maneuverability and reaction capability. In order to improve economic efficiency, air refuelers will be derived from commercial and military transports and will be used as both air refuelers and transports. Some smalller and medium-size and VTOSL buddy tankers will be also developed in the future.
