A Peculiar Poet: On Li Jinfa’s Writing Characteristics

在中国最早引进了西方象征派手法的现代诗人李金发,是中国新诗史上一个备受争议的人物,其诗作之特别使其赢得了“诗怪”这一褒贬不定的称号。文章试图从李金发的个性、生活经历、所处环境等方面来探求其“怪”之根源,并由此分析体现在其诗作中的思想内容和表现形式之“怪”。

Li Jinfa, a controversial figure in history of Chinese modem verse, was the first poet who introduced western symbolic expressions into China. His special way of writing poems won him the title ＂strange Poet＂, which was praised highly by some and also depreciated by others. The essay tries to look into the sources of＂peculiarity＂ from Li Jinfa＇s personality, life experience and living circumstances in order to analyze the peculiarity that he made in his idea and the special way of writing.
