On Public Interests in Urban Planning

利益问题实际上统领着城市规划中的全部工作,城市规划作为协调社会不同利益的方式之一,其基本价值观应该立足于实现公共利益的最大化。城市规划的研究领域不应仅限于实在的物理空间,更应该拓展到包含文化、价值、意义、关系等信息的社会空间。

Interests issue virturally command all work of urban planning. As an instrument of adjusting social interests, the basic values of urban planning should base on the maximization of public interests . Urban planning knowledge should extend not only in the space, but also the society, including culture, value, significance, relation.
