Ezra Pound is an advocate and promoter of Anglo-American modernist poetry. This paper is a tentative study of Pound＇ devotion to the modernist poetry. It examnes in details Pound＇ s advocacy of ＂modem＂ literary ideas,other modem poets＇ growth with the assistance of Pound, Pound＇ s devotion to some modernist pubheations and penodieals. And it also scrutinizes the modernist charactenstics in Pound＇ s poems. The author argues that with his outstanding work,Pound unquestionably takes the leading position of Anglo-American modernist poetry.
