基于交互Clients/Server应用的JPEG2000 ROI技术

摘要 讨论了一种JPEG2000 VM3.0提出的方法,对一个已经编码的图像的ROI的高效解码,而不需要对全部图像再进行解码/编码处理。基本的方法是兼容于JPEG2000标准采用的基于小波压缩方案,并且已经被先行验证模式(VM)采用。该技术对于通过窄带网络连接的交互客户端/服务器应用具有特殊的意义,因为客户端能够请求服务器端以很小的处理代价更有效率调整设想信息的传输。 An approach allowing an efficient decoding of region of interest of an already encoded image without need for a complete decoding/encoding process is discussed. The basic method is compatible with the wavelet compression scheme adopted by the jpeg2000 standard and is adopted in a previous verification model. This technique is of special value to the interactive client/server applications linked through narrowband networks in which the client can request the server to adjust more efficiently the transmission of the desired information at little processing cost.
