The content of Tumor Necrosis Factor α(TNFd) were assessed in the supernatant of rat alveolar macrophages exposed to three coal dusts.The results showed that the content of TNFα in coal dust group were significantly higher than those in the control group.And there was a dose-depedent relationship between the concentration of dust and the content of TNFα.The results suggested that TNFα may play an important role in the development of coal worker's pneumoconiosis.
