The Wings of the Mind:The Wordsworthian Imagination and the Creation of "The Prelude"

华兹华斯敏感地意识到诗人心灵在创作过程中的重要性,以其特有的神奇想像力创作了有关想像力成长的长诗《序曲》———英国浪漫主义最高成就的代表作品之一。结合《序曲》的创作分析讨论华兹华斯关于想像力的主要观点,即后人所称的“华兹华斯的想像力理论”,探究情感起关键作用的想像过程、表现想像力全部力量的诗的语言以及想像与幻想的区别。

Having sensitively realized the importance of the poet＇s mind in the creative process, with his imaginative power, Wordsworth wrote the epic The Prelude, whose central theme is about the development of a poet＇ s imagination-considered as one of the crowning achievements of English Romanticism. Combined with the creation of The Prelude, this paper discusses his major views on imagination, the so-called Wordsworthian imagination, that is, the role of imagination in the creative process, the poetic language, and the differences between imagination and fancy.
