义项的流变性与辞典编纂者的自由度

The Fluidity of Acceptances and the Freedom of Lexicographers

针对《现代辞典学导论》对义项是否具有客观性问题的论述进行讨论,认为义项是客观存在的,但呈现在词典中的义项则离不开主观的认识,义项与义项之间的界限是相对的,并不是截然分明的。文章以实例说明辞典编纂者可以根据需要对义项进行适当的归并或分解。

Whether the acceptances have an objective basis is a matter of dispute. Against the argument of introduction to Modern Lexicography, this paper holds that acceptances exist objectively, but those appearing in dictionaries are mediated subjectively. The boundaries between acceptances are not clear-cut but relative. The examples show that lexicographers can lump or split acceptances properly as need arise.
