The mineral resources are the important rough materials for the development of national economy. To ensure the sustainable development of domestic mineral resources, it is important to recognize the particularity of mineral resources and the mineral resources situation at present and in the future, and present reliable plan of resolving the problems existing in the development of mineral resources. The paper discusses the situation, analyzes the challenge and opportunity of domestic mining industry, and presents a few countermeasures for the sustainable development of mineral resources.
