On the Lexical Frozenness of Commercial Law of Great Britain and its Translation Techniques

从词汇的角度分析英文法律语言的庄重与僵硬的特点,通过对《大英商法》中的大量相关词汇进行分类整理和比较说明,以证实遣词在体现法律文书特性和实现其法律效应在语言上所起的重要作用,提出了法律词汇英译汉的思路。

The frozenness and formality of English legal language is illustrated with an analysis of the use of words in the Commercial Law of Great Britain. Abundant lexicons from the Commercial Law of Great Britain are collected, categorized and compared as to prove the importance of lexical choice in shaping the formality of legal language and realizing its legal austerity. Techniques for translation of legal language are also proposed.
