宗教习语翻译的异化和归化

Foreignization and domestication in translation of religious idioms

源于宗教文化的习语,大都具有鲜明的形象,往往带有浓厚的宗教文化渊源,常引起丰富的联想。翻译时除了应当忠实地表达原文习语的意义外,还应尽可能保持形象比喻、丰富联想及文化特色。异化和归化的争论由来已久。通过回顾我国译界就这两种翻译方法争论的历史,研究源于宗教文化习语的翻译方法,总结出好的翻译应是二者的有机结合。

The idioms are of rich expressions of Christian culture and will arouse associations. So it is better to keep the original image, the associations and the culture characteristics in translation. This paper discusses the translation strategies of the idioms from religious culture translating literally to keep the original image, paraphrasing, translating literally with paraphrase, translating with a note, and so on.
