The Semantic Triangle Model Viewed From the Russian Scholars

The semantic triangle is a concise symbol intended to explain the abstract nature of language. Although the model has evoked a wide range of debates, it has made a great impact on linguistic research. While tracing its historical development, this article mainly focuses on the Russian scholars＇ understanding and interpretation of the triangle in the light of the Theological Trinity and phenomenological reduction. It is concluded that the great efforts and achievements made by the Russian scholars in this respect will improve and further develop the semantic triangle theory.
