Shanghai was a metropolis full of appetency with blooming economy, and brothel were ＂flower of crime＂ which developed from it. Flowers in Shanghai accounts a story of prostitute and brothel visitors in brothels of Shanghai, and reflects metropolitan culture of Shanghai. The culture has three essential characters： commercial tendency in every day life; immoral tendency in human relation; utility tendency in emotion between man and woman.
