On the Relationship between Presupposition and Information Structure

预设又译之为前提或先设,它和信息结构有着密不可分的关系。信息结构由已知信息和新信息构成,已知信息存在于预设之中,而新信息则随预设的变化而变化;预设和信息结构同时又一起共同作用于语篇的发展。

Presupposition is also translated into 前提 or 先设 in Chinese. It is closely related to the information structure, which is composed of given information and new information. Given information exists in presupposition while new information in the communication is changed according to different presupposition. Presupposition and information structure help to the development of the text at the same time.
