The technical development of S—VHS high performance VTR

家用录像机正朝高性能、高清晰度、多功能方向发展,S—VHS家用录像机是这一发展的主流。S—VHS录像机中采用的新技术主要有高带技术、亮/色分离输入输出技术等,本文对这些新技术作一介绍。

This article overviews the technologies used in S-VHS (Super-VideoHome System) VTR, i. e., the outline of the S-VHS format, picture quality impro-vement by increasing carrier, the main new circuit technology, the separated Y/C(luminance and/or chrominance) inputs and outputs newly introduced in consumerVTRs, and the main specification of the European oriented (PAL, SECAN TV Systems)S-VHS VTRs. The article ended with the brief outline of the state and trend ofJapanese S-VHS VTR industry and its impact on the field of home entertainment.
