幽默具有两大主要功能————美感功能、信息功能。其美感功能能使人产生愉悦的情感,其信息功能能让读者感受到其传递的多重意义。翻译英语幽默应从整体着手,再现其意义,还要尽量传达其美感功能。由于每种语言都有其文化特点、修辞特点和表达习惯,因此译者在翻译幽默的过程中应采取各种方法,再现原文的修辞特点、内涵奥妙和幽默的联想。

Humorously has two big main functions—— esthetic sense function, the information function. Its esthetic sense function can make one have the joyful emotion, its information function can let the reader feel to its transmission multiple significance. Translation English is humorous should begin from the whole, to reappear its significance, but also must transmit its esthetic sense function as far as possible. Because each language all has its cultural characteristic, the rhetoric characteristic and the expression custom, therefore the translator should adopt each method in the translation humorous process, reappearance original text rhetoric characteristic, connotation mysterious and humorous association.
