By the impact of market economy and globalization, the contemporary Chinese culture shows diversity and common customs. This paper analyses the character of contemporary Chinese culture from the viewpoint of cognition and value standard. In the author＇s view, the Chinese pragmatism form of value in the period of social transition reflects the social progress and the liberation of human nature. We should understand civilization and barbarity, morality and human nature, thought and education, science and culture with the broad mind and the innovational spirit for the harmonious social development.
