语料库翻译研究是20世纪90年代才兴起的一种全新的翻译研究范式。适用于翻译研究的语料库主要是平行语料库和可比语料库。语料库翻译研究取得的较突出的成就是对翻译普遍性的研究。关于译文中存在的简略化,明确化和规范化的普遍特征的假设在语料库翻译研究中得到了一定程度的验证。在翻译教学中利用语料库和检索工具,能取得丰富的教学文本,获得并证实译文模式和翻译知识,提高翻译人员的专业性。语料库翻译研究具有巨大研究潜能但同时也有一些需要克服的局限。

The 1990s saw the adoption of the corpus-based approach to translation studies. Corpora applicable to translation research includes mainly parallel corpora and comparable corpora. Presently, the most prominent achievement in corpus-based translation investigations is in testifying the hypothesis that the characteristics of simplification, explication and nominalization or conservatism exist as translation universals in translated texts. A corpus is an available channel for obtaining abundant and illustrative translation teaching and learning materials. The corpus-based approach has shown great potential in translation studies while its limitations should not be iznored.
