薛姨妈在《红楼梦》中不是一个重要人物,但在贾府老太君的座上,却是一个不可缺少的人物,因为她不只有时会成为帮闲凑趣的“清客”,真到难堪的节骨眼上,还是个有层次的排忧解围的“贵客”。薛姨妈很会做人,但心机却深。曹雪芹用生花妙笔刻画的这个人物形象是符合当时的历史环境的人物心态特点的。
