Lu Xun's Diary of a Madman and some previous literary works in the history of Chinese literature share the common ground of "exposing the evil practice of patriarchism and feudal ethics". The principal part of this paper discusses this issue and points out that the orginality of the Diary is mainly attributed to "the deep expression and the special style". It is supposed to offer a sample for the historical evolution of Chinese literature.
