社会主义新农村,是指在社会主义条件或社会主义制度下,反映一定时期农村社会以经济发展为基础,以社会全面进步为标志的社会状态。建设社会主义新农村,关系到巩固党执政的社会基础、实现党执政的历史任务,关系到最广大人民的根本利益,关系到全面建设小康社会的全局,关系到社会主义现代化事业的成败。

A new socialist countryside is a social condition, which shows that the rural society in a certain period takes the economical development as a foundation and the social overall progress as a symbol in the socialist condition or system. Building a new socialist countryside is of a great significance, having a direct bearing on consolidating the social basis for the ruling Party and realizing the historic task of the ruling Party; on the fundamental interests of most people; on the overall situation of building a well-off society in an all-round way; on the success or failure of the socialist modernization.
