宋四六是骈文在宋代进一步定型化后所获得的专称。它应用广泛,更是科举应试的通用文体,其矜尚用事、典赡精工的特点对类书提出了强烈的吁求。而类书在提供临文之需的同时,也不免使宋四六走上程式化的道路,逐渐丧失活力,沦为“类书外编”。

Parallel prose of Song Dynasty is a technical term for the finalizing style of parallel prose.It is widely used and is also a general type of writing in the imperial examinations.Its attribute of literary quotation makes it be in great need of encyclopedia.Although encyclopedia is helpful in composition writing,it also has some side effects,which makes the parallel prose of the Song Dynasty become stylizing,lose vitality gradually and then be reduced to some kind of encyclopedia.
